Confirmed from DeGroff Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

After a disappointing visit to The Exchange Club Park I visited DeGroff Park at the suggestion of Stephen S. Thank you so much Stephen for telling me about this gem.

I love to go here and sit by the water it is so relaxing and quiet. The only reason it didn't get five stars is because dogs are not allowed. I so much would love to bring my little dog to sit by the water with me and walk him around. It's a shame that responsible people with bags can't enjoy it with their pets

I had so much fun here it was wonderful to see the beautiful ships go by in the bows the people were really friendly they're walking their dogs and beautiful beautiful women and two children and cute dogs and we just had so much fun of us over the holiday spirit everybody was in such a great mood laughing and talking…

I wish there was a playground (there used to be, not sure what happened to it?) and I wish there was a hose to rise off our feet. The park seems a little run down lately it could use a refresher but it is overall a great park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
