Confirmed from Delaplane Preserve Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Delaplane Preserve Park
Delaplane Preserve is a 51 acre preserve located along the south fork of the St. Lucie River. Although it is large only a small part of it is accessible. There is a 6 car parking lot.
Nice stroll through the marsh lands. Bug's can kick your axx later in the evening. I have heard from others that Florida panthers are in the vicinity. TAKE THIS SERIOUS. Make sure you stay on the path due to the fact that there is a lot of poison ivy and poison oak around.
Pretty walk. It's a short one. Pet friendly. Nice dock at the end. Bet it would be great to fish off. Lots of fish jumping all over and a big tree with a rope swing. Reminded me of something you would read from Robert Frost. Small little alligator swimming near by. Great ramp for launching Kayak or a canoe from.
I walked the trail it was pretty quick it's only a quarter mile. I saw a black snake (I knew I would), and there was a small raccoon down by the river doing something. I always keep my distance when I see a raccoon during the daytime.
Trail conditions & character
“It's only ¼ mile from parking lot to end of the trail, but its a nice clean, and safe walk.”
“Accessible from both road and water with a nice dock and boat ramp on the South Fork.”
