I don't know why it's listed as only open on Monday and Friday. I visited the Kayak/Canoe Launch today and it looks to be open every day. This is a lovely, large, not gated, public park. The kayak/canoe launch is universally accessible, very high tech, you don't need to step into the river.
This park is beautiful, simple and clean. There is a playground for the kids. Some picnic tables and plenty of room to walk you dogs or let your littles run and stretch. It's in a very nice neighborhood, and feels completely safe.
My friends and I will use this place as an entry point into the Grand River for a lot of our kayak trips. It has a kayak launch for easy in and out access from the water but we just use the gravel shore next to it. It's easy enough to get in and out of from there and it's a great spot to take the dog into the water.
We enjoyed a short walk along the river. It appears to be a well maintained park and walkway. They were doing some construction along the walking path and there are different size loops for people to choose. We parked at the kayak launch but there was also a small parking area at the beginning of the walking trail.
