Confirmed from Dismal Harmony Natural Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park includes diverse wildlife habitats, rock ledges, a pair of streams & extensive hiking trails.
What runners say about Dismal Harmony Natural Area
“It's got only a few shortish hiking trails (our preferred loop is only about 40 minutes), but there are good hills and a beautiful section with a stream and some short waterfalls.”
“Beautiful easy walk just minutes from residential Mendham.”
Nice hike down to the brook, with a natural water slide and swimming area
I loved walking through here. Alot of uphill which was a great workout. Rocky terrain and sometimes a narrow path. Tree markings were great for direction. There is also a small hidden waterfall with big rocks to sit, meditate and enjoy nature. Will most likely make this my daily trail.
This is a hidden gem. It's got only a few shortish hiking trails (our preferred loop is only about 40 minutes), but there are good hills and a beautiful section with a stream and some short waterfalls.
Excellent trail, but DO NOT rely on the Google Maps version. The pdf map from hikemendham.org appears to be accurate.

“We like to park in the "hidden" parking lot to the west, at the top of a big hill at the end of a dead end street across from the baseball fields.”
