Confirmed from Lewis Morris Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Lewis Morris Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (764 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“Extensive, well maintained trails and clean bathrooms in most of the parking lots.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“I loved this place such a beautiful nature quite and not crowded Picnic area with bbq grills A beach lake for swimming Hiking and mountain biking”

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

“Excellent parking and good signage make for a seamless experience.”

Great park, plenty of parking, short or long trails depending on your desired activity level. Most of them have some grades to them, a bit of uphill or downhill, but nothing too difficult. The trails are marked, but slightly more clearer marking would be great.

nice trails in this area and a lovely area to have a picnic (they have several picnic tables). they also have grills here too if you wanted to barbecue. there is a small stream and a lake. there is some parking spaces as well. overall a nice place to enjoy nature and hang out by yourself or with friends and family.

Extensive, well maintained trails and clean bathrooms in most of the parking lots. I’d use park maps as AllTrails and Google Maps don’t reflect the latest trail closures or reroutes. Ran into a few dead ends using these apps, so best to use the actual park maps to avoid going off trail

Extraordinary trails to join with the family and / or friends for a nice walk with nature. If you prefer enjoy the lake with the kids is another option!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
