Confirmed from Freedom Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Freedom Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (266 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“The playground is well kept and there is an interesting variety of things to play with there including bells, drums, a climbing wall, and others.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“It was a bit breezy and on the chilly side, but what we were offered in exchange was a beautiful double rainbow and an exciting game!”

The Randolph Trails running through this park are an absolute gem — perfect for gravel biking or walking. They were surprisingly uncrowded for a nice early summer day. There's also great facilities for sports and picnics throughout this park.

★★★★★ — Dale , Jun 2024

Cute park! Not to mention it has walking and easy hiking paths off of it. This is not only a sports park that has lacrosse, football, and baseball fields. There is a pavilion to rent or eat at as well. A beach 🏐 volleyball court and a playground with swings for kids. The playground was recently redone and kids love it.

★★★★★ — Scott , May 2026

Beautiful grounds. Offers hiking, paved walking trails. Speed bumps upon entry to keep you in check. Well maintained playground for kids. Fields for all sports. Truly a lovely place to pack lunch and spend the day.

★★★★★ — Jackie , Feb 2021

Great park for kids, a track to walk, some people come to walk their dogs, there’s a child play area. A sand box, gazebo, bathrooms not open during winter months. Grounds are always kept clean.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
