Confirmed from Don Greene Nature Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

ShadedQuiet

Small park with winding paths, benches and native grasses, plus a memorial to an avid outdoorsman.

What runners say about Don Greene Nature Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (32 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“So grateful for a shady, tranquil spot of nature tucked surprisingly in a much needed area.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“It's a peaceful place where you can reflect and just be outdoors in a bit of nature.”

Very cute small neighborhood park. There were butterflies, squirrels, few flowers, and only a few birds. I had fun overall. There is a shaded bench area you can sit down, no table though. The grass does need some mowing though. Bring mosquito spray.

At first this tiny natural oasis on a modest residential street doesn't look like much. You'll see some trees and grasses, but you might think it isn't worth walking inside. But take another look. It's shady and cool. The various native grasses are pretty and graceful.

Fascinating to walk this park with a knowledgable, enthusiastic volunteer who explained the transformation and told us about the plantings and their purposes. An important and significant effort to return an oasis of nature to this neighborhood while memorializing Don Greene's efforts.

★★★★★ — Greg , May 2021

Very serene park, a lot longer trails than I thought it would be in all honesty.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
