Confirmed from Doudy Draw Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Outdoor area with flatiron views offering hiking and mountain biking trails.
What runners say about Doudy Draw Trailhead
“This is a great trail with great views but be careful, it will be extremely muddy if it has rained or snowed recently.”
“Epic vista and beginner friendly mountain bike trek.”
Come here all the time to bike. I'd never come here to hike, its too long and the views are just not worth walking miles for, better to walk into eldorado state park from Fowler or something else, better views for less boring cow field walking.
Great trailhead. Beautiful view of the flatirons. Free parking with Boulder licence plate. There a restroom. Trail access for both horses and mountain bikes. Lots of access to trail running that's a little less technical than on the mountains.
Easy hike! Beautiful view of the flatirons and some wild flowers. MT Bikers are courteous, too!
Perfect for short to half day hike or ride for the entire family, inc the four legged members. Even tho I don't have horses I like the access and shared space for everyone. Almost everytime I see families on bikes, and people are always friendly in passing.

Plan your run at Doudy Draw Trailhead
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
