Confirmed from Flatirons Vista's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 15 mentions

“Great place to start, parking and bathroom at the trailhead (though an atomic smell if no ventilation), beautiful views, and groundhogs (?”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“there was not a lot of shaded area, and the little stream that ran into the pond was dried up so the dogs couldn’t drink out of it.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“This is a pretty easy hike with beautiful scenery.”

This is a great trail. Not too strenuous. If your car isn’t registered in Boulder county, make sure you bring $5 exact change to pay for parking. Dogs are allowed as well. Most of the trail is really rocky. Make sure you wear good shoes. Also, Go early to avoid the heat.

Nice winter hike. Very Mellow and easy hike. Not to much elevation. Not too crowded. Really love it. Cows are around you as well 🤣 Lovely. I love the loop when it gets in the forest. To make the circle takes me about 2hour and 30 mins if it is a lot of snow and none stop. Very nice

Wow this place is beautiful! It is pet friendly and has so many beautiful scenic views. There was wide open spaces and livestock roaming the grounds, which was really cool when they approached you or crossed your path on the trails.

★★★★☆ — Taylor , Jul 2018

We really enjoyed these trails. There are beautiful views of the Flatirons and the surrounding area. Downside is that it can get hot during the summer. There isn't a ton a shade in the beginning or the end of the trail so it can get cooking. If you are not a Boulder county residents it is $5 for parking.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
