Duck Egg County Forest has some of the most beautiful geographic features Wisconsin has to offer, and I don't say that lightly! The 3.5mi Duck Egg trail take you through several large valleys, right up to a scenic bluff, down into the lower valleys, and then back up again.
Very nice trail from upper parking area down some rocky switchbacks to the valley floor and the creek.
This is a beautiful place to walk. The river crosses the trail in many different spots and there are little wooden bridges to cross it. Horses are gonna love it here, as that is it's primary use. There are a lot of different wildflowers, trees, and species of birds, so there's never a shortage of photo opportunities.
Duck Egg is a pretty cool place. The drive in to the lower parking is on a kinda tight bendy road. A bridge crosses the river and plenty of parking is there. A porta potty starts the beginning of the trail head. The main trails vary from hilly to open fields to forest and are open to people and people on horseback.
