Confirmed from Duck Hollow Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Fishing, bird-watching and cycling spot featuring a paved path, a riverfront trail and shaded areas.
What runners say about Duck Hollow Trail
“Nice quiet area despite being right on the other side of the river from waterfront.”
Nice wide paved trail with tons of trees/shade. Would be great for bike riding or dog walking. The parking lot seems to be a popular place to fish or party which neither are my interests. I enjoyed going off the trail and exploring the riverside.
This place is great.. I love fishing here I catch at least 2 Allegheny white snakes every time I come there! And there's an awesome trail here great place for the family to ride bikes and walk down cigarette smokers please stay away cuz we don't want to smell that!
I liked this trail and park. It is located in an isolated location, but is not too far from everything. The trail was well maintained for the most part but I wish it was just a bit longer. There’s all types of people here, some here to fish, others here to smoke. there’s also bikers and families with kids.
There appeared to be two trail entrances. The one we walked was paved and peaceful. There was a parking lot. My only complaint was the dirt trail that leads to river access was covered in broken glass so I had to carry my dog in that section.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
