Confirmed from Duck Island Warriors' Path's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Duck Island Warriors' Path

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (102 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“We decided to check this out while on a road trip to see the fall colors and found such a beautiful gem of a park.”

🏃 great for running 2 mentions

“Great place to walk, picnic, run, and access to the lake!”

20230331 My go-to park to walk my pups when traveling thru TN. I walked up the hill to the picnic pavillions and discover restrooms in the Pavillions, saw a white tail deer, and there is what appeared to be a vacant parking lot that is not longer in used.

Great place to walk and bring your dogs. Please clean up after them so everyone can enjoy. On one side they have a water fountain, so your dog 🐕 and you can get water. They also have bathrooms. Plenty of parking.

This is a fantastic place to walk or run for fitness, or just for relaxation and to enjoy the beauty! We see deer, geese, ducks, and love to go there! There is a super awesome play area for the little ones too!! It's a one-of-a-kind playground fashioned after the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe tales.

★★★★★ — Mike , Oct 2022

It has a paved walking path for dogs and people. There are several shelters for picnics etc. Tennis courts need resurfacing preferably into pickleball courts as it is the fastest growing sport in the US.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🛣️ Paved surface 8 mentions

“They recently built a clubhouse (or something) along with all new slips for boats, and newly paved roads!”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
