Confirmed from Duck Pond's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly park featuring a pond with ducks and a gazebo.
What runners say about Duck Pond
“Have spent some really beautiful mornings here, take some bread/ frozen peas/ oats for the ducks (they love it!”
“It's quiet and pretty with a little walking trail and people like to fish in the pond.”
A beautiful spot to hill and hangout. Its quite and yes there are ducks. You don't mostly see them st this time of the year but in summers they are out. You can park at Virginia Tech Inn and walk to this beautiful pond.
This Duck Pond is a wonderful, peaceful place to visit near the university. It's full of ducks and geese, making it perfect for nature lovers and kids who enjoy watching wildlife. On weekdays, parking can be tricky since you need a pass or paid parking, which is hard to find.
Nice walking trails that are dog friendly. Ducks and geese are swimming in the ponds and walking around the trails. There is a neat little walking path between two of the ponds that allow you to walk across the small dam. A couple of islands add to the view of the main pond.
I love this little park. It's quiet and pretty with a little walking trail and people like to fish in the pond. Great place for lunch breaks.
