Confirmed from Eastern Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Beautiful place. Nice scenery. However, people biking go very fast and even if you're off to the side they still nearly run you over.

I walked a very short portion of this trail in the Scarborough area. I've driven along many parts of this trail in different areas of the state. It is a wide gravel trail and flat. Very easy to walk in. Scenery will change significantly depending on what part of the trail you are on.

One of my favorite walks in any season! 4 miles across the marsh and through the woods and back again. It's serene and beautiful and teeming with wildlife! Wheelchair accessible path with a lovely footbridge and plenty of things to see along your walk. There are intermittent benches if you need to rest!

Best place to go for a walk or bike ride. Everyone is so happy and friendly. And it does not cost a thing.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
