Confirmed from Eden Landing Ecological Reserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Eden Landing Ecological Reserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (299 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Very unique place, nice hiking trail, great views.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Very peaceful and low traffic.”

Beautiful place to walk or jog by the water. Be prepared that it can get very windy and cool here. Probably will be a good place to escape the summer heat.

★★★★★ — Bree , Mar 2025

Oh how it is to still be able to walk around without the sound of cars zipping by. I'm glad we still have some Marsh wetlands left in this modernized version of Hayward. It's a whole different city then the one I grew up in.

★★★★★ — Ernesto , Jun 2019

The park we go to is conveniently located on Clawiter Rd, just off Hwy 92, at the Hayward Shoreline, which has plenty of spots to fish. You can also jog, walk, bike ride, take pictures or just chill. They have an ADA porta potty and plenty of empty parking spots most of the time.

I love coming here and just exploring the area. Amazing place to just walk, jog or run. Also biking is great. Just watch where you ride and stay safe. Bird watching can be great bring your binoculars.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
