Confirmed from Edgemere Linear Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Linear park with a 3-mile paved path for walking and cycling.
What runners say about Edgemere Linear Park
“Most of the time, Its clean, love to walk there cause of all the trees and benches to sit and people watch n feel the coolness in ur face, well, During this season.”
Great place to go for a walk and for dog walking. They have dog bag dispensers along the path, and it is lighted at night. The path is paved and level so even those with a walking cane or wheel chair can use the path. If before our after school hours you can park at Burgess HS and start from there.
We started walking here almost daily and I like the new repairs they did. It feels comforting being able to see where you stepping. Pretty flat leveled path, about 3 miles long, and the neighborhood it's at it's really safe. I enjoy it and would definitely recommend it if you just wanna go for a walk!
Green grass with wonderful trees along the walk/run lane. Kept very clean and always stocked with green bags to clean up after dogs. City of El Paso does an excellent job of keeping this jem a retreat for walking your dogs or running with a friend.
Beautiful park, no tables for picnics, and the barriers along the running/bike trail were too close to comfortably go through on the bike but otherwise a great park.
Trail conditions & character
“The concern now is for dog owners picking up the Dogs Droppings - these people need to be voted - who is enforcing this law.”
“It's well lit and fairly level so you get a decent workout no matter how you choose to use the path.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
