Confirmed from Edgewood Park & Natural Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
467 acres of woodlands & grasslands known for its hiking, wildflowers, bird-watching & scenic views.

Beautiful and easy to navigate hiking and exercise preserve with beautiful views, lots of wildflowers, birds and other animals, public facilities, and moderate to easy difficulty. This place is truly special and can be reasonably navigated in 2-3 hours!
Love my weekday trips to Edgewood. No issues with parking, which can get crazy on the weekend. While still about 2-3 weeks from peek bloom, found about 15 distinct wildflowers blooming right now, right next to the trails -- Sylvan to Serpentine to Ridgeview to Edgewood briefly then back to Serpentine to Franciscan to…
It is a nice park with many trails most of which are not difficult. Some are shaded but most are not. You can see highway 280 on one side and the San Francisco Bay on the other side. Lots of wild flowers. We saw 2 deer and a few lizards. Quite a lot of parking.
I hiked through the Sylvan trail with my wife and 5 year old kid. The lady at Park information desk was very helpful and suggested Sylvan trail as we were interested in wild flowers. We started in the afternoon, but didn't feel the heat, as the weather was pleasant and the whole route was covered in shades.
