Confirmed from Egermann Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Egermann Woods
They've been doing some burning recently on the side along Hobson and it looks pretty cool. This is one of my favorite forest preserves in the area, but I never thought to review it. Anyway, it's a great park.
Its a good place for a hike when the mosquitoes are not around. They should add a small parking lot to make it easier for people who don't live in the neighborhood.
It is a fun place for a run or a jog to calm down with ponds, animals, and paths.
This is a nice forest preserve in Naperville area. The good thing about this forest preserve is there is a paved hiking path between the forest and the neighborhood houses. It looks safe and quiet

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
