Confirmed from Greene Valley Forest Preserve West entrance's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“I would say it falls into the category of the wild side of forest preserve, but in the same time trails are clearly marked and defined.”

This place is great. I’m in IL on business and am so glad I found this place. What a beautiful day! I did the White Oak trail and it was great. The trail was wide and parts where shady, sunny, and hilly. So I felt like I was hiking. I walked and ran the trail.

The forest preserve and trails here are amazing! You could walk around for hours and not take the same path twice.

Large preserve with highest point in DuPage county Yes it was a landfill and most likely a gravel pit b4 that

★★★★★ — Scott , Jul 2020

Trails are large, well maintained, and well marked. Crushed limestone paths are ideal for walking/running and super smooth for a stroller or bike. I parked at the south lot and walked the White Oak Trail (2.7 mi) on a sunny morning (75 degrees). The first 0.75 mi and last 0.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
