Confirmed from Egypt Valley Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Egypt Valley Trail Head
“I didn’t realize this was mostly for biking, nor did my friend and I have a map or bug spray, but it was beautiful nonetheless.”
Nice 7 mile loop! We came here to hike, but it seemed like mainly a mountain biking trail. We walked the opposite way of the cyclists (as one should..) and had to jump out of the way a few times, but it was no big deal! Most cyclists were friendly and said “hi!” or “thanks!” :) Trail has various terrains.
Very runnable trail, looks like a great place for some MTB single track
I like mountain biking, but am by no means an expert. Still, this trail is windy, twisty fun with rollers and hills. It's marked as an intermediate, but there are definitely advanced sections. If you're a novice, use your brakes a lot and keep your weight back in the tricky parts. You need decent brakes for sure.
Phenomenal trail. Broken up into several sections, divided up by street crossings. The street crossings are across a couple gravel roads with minimal car traffic. Trail signs can be obscured by vegetation at times. May be difficult for beginners and children on bike. If you're on foot, watch out for the bikers.
Trail conditions & character
“Great trail can make a couple loops and get about 8 miles per loop.”
“It took me a bit to find the start in the correct direction, since it is across the street from the parking lot.”
“Fees of the down are wages out with lots of rocks and roots, making them challenging.”
“The street crossings are across a couple gravel roads with minimal car traffic.”

- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
