Confirmed from Eliza Fox Trail Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Eliza Fox Trail Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (58 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Really beautiful little trail, but it can be marshy in areas after heavy or prolonged rains.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“Beautiful and quiet with the sound of the stream it follows bubbling along beside you.”

Hidden Falls Park is at the North end of the Eliza Fox Trail, next to the Hidden Falls neighborhood and across the street from Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve. The park is also accessible from the South from a small, Permit Only parking lot on Old Mill Road across the street from Hardie Valley Park and is accessible…

This trail is a great connector to the Beechwood Farms trail system. The many stream crossings allow people to look at the local Pennsylvanian aged geology, and look at local wildlife. I once saw a box turtle here.

★★★★★ — Edgar , May 2022

Beautiful and quiet with the sound of the stream it follows bubbling along beside you. Highly recommend muck boots, there are several large puddles, unavoidable slurpy mud, and you ford the stream multiple times. Dog loved being off-leash.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 15 mentions

“Another comment mentioned the off-leash dogs, and I only had one negative experience but that was with a dog owner who didn't have control of their dog.”

Plan your run at Eliza Fox Trail Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
