Confirmed from Embshoff Woods And Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Love coming here with my pups, they enjoy all the open space to run around. Rainy days are the best time for us to come, so peaceful and beautiful. Occasionally it can be a little too crowded, but what can you expect for such a great park.

★★★★★ — Mr. , Apr 2022

This is a really short trail. There are some portable toilets near the parking. Dog friendly. There are some really funny parkour activities you can do while you walk through if you want to (pull up bars and rings, hurdles and etc). Trail has some steps to it so if you use a wheelchair it might be challenging.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 10 mentions

“The playground is tons of fun for the kids, the restrooms are clean and spacious, the walking trail is great.”

Plan your run at Embshoff Woods And Nature Preserve

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
