Confirmed from Evans Pond's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Evans Pond

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (222 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“Bathrooms, clean running water, fishing, new outdoor exercise equipment, basketball courts, baseball fields.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Gorgeous mornings right now in the spring.”

Nice area to take a walk with your dog. Enjoy the fall time with the crisp air and the turning leaves. Enjoy as it gets warmer and the trees are full with leaves. When you're done, take your pup to Croft Farm Dog Park.

I go there all the time . Beautiful nature trails children's play ground walking jogging track restrooms water fountain covered seating baseball basketball excersizse stations, dog park lacrosse and soccer fields all right there with excellent fishing stocked fish cats and carps. Easy parking picnic tables

★★★★☆ — Daniel , Jul 2022

The trail around the pond is an easy walk and can be relaxing. However, the area can quickly get saturated after a rain storm resulting in a muddy and poor experience. Its proximity to Challenge Park makes it a great place to visit.

★★★★☆ — Rob , May 2019

Playground, tracks, basketball, baseball fields, soccer fields and a dog park. A walking trail and a pavilion with bathrooms. I've seen birthday parties thrown there. The bridge over the river is open now and they added picnic tables. The walk around the park is just over a mile.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
