Confirmed from Filiorum Reserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
A 191-acre reserve with hills & canyons overlooking the ocean crossed by hiking & equestrian trails.
What runners say about Filiorum Reserve
“Beautiful place, lots of loops, and challenging if you want it to be.”
Great place to hike, mountain bike, and even ride horses! Close to the South Bay and close to nature!!!
This is the precious 'Green Lung' of the South Bay. I try to visit at least four times a week as part of my physical and psychological fitness routine. Plan on spending at least an hour traversing the well maintained sandy trails offering breath taking ocean views, coastal sage aromas and easy to moderate trails.
Usually pretty good place to hike during weekdays but weekends are a circus . ...so busy.. Google maps has changed the world...⛪🌎! REPENT & BE BAPTIZED, ACCEPT the LOVE ♥️ of CHRIST & BE SAVED TODAY ! GOD IS LOVE 上帝是愛 😀♥️ #AcceptChrist2bSaved2day
Fun hike! Only did about 1 mile but the loop is longer. Will want to come back again. Nice sights and very quiet. Hear alot of rustling from animals and birds chirping. I would say its moderate level hike

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
