We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Fish Lake Nature Trails yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular reserve sheltering bison deer and eagles - as well as numerous birds, on walking paths circling lakes.
What runners say about Fish Lake Nature Trails
“The trail around Fish Lake was perfect, beautiful and an easy stroll.”
A little slice of oak savanna right near the Twin Cities.. A nice set of nature trails fill of lots of birds. So little buckthorn and though most invasives are no longer blooming, none were noted. Many native plants and birds without the distractions of noticeable non natives. Love it!
This is my new favorite nature trail! It's not too long to the bison and is just right to take your family out. I absolutely love it.
A great place to take a sunday walk or run, and some awesome green sunfish fishing. Apon entering the park, it tees off into two directions, on the left there is a great view of the rare Savanna which is great for bird watching, and as well has Bison viewing on Saturday 10-2.
These trails are a must-visit for any birders nearby. The oak savanna is filled with Red-headed Woodpeckers, with plenty of other interesting species found nearby. The trails are wide and well-kept, with short grass and good drainage.

“Dock on lake (at end of trail from parking lot) if you want to Canoe - but it's a bit of a walk with a canoe/kayak so you'd want a cart.”
