Confirmed from Five Mile Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking and running trails through a forested area that gets muddy after heavy rain.
What runners say about Five Mile Woods
“Some of the other trails can be a little treacherous for injured me, but it’s calm, safe, convenient and well maintained”
It was a fantastic nature hike with many routes - please note that there are a lot of above ground roots so be prepared with good hiking shoes.
I've been going here off and on since 2009, and it's always a great option to help get in shape. The trails are varied and interesting, and if you take the outermost loop (keep turning to the right at every possibility), it's a 3-mile loop.
Love to take the kids here. Paths are well marked so I can let them explore without being too concerned about finding our way back. They love the variety of paths and wooden walkways.
Great place for a walk. It can be muddy, so wear mud friendly footwear. Lots of paths make it easy to make the hike as long or as short as you want. Grab a map on the way in.
Trail conditions & character
“The trails are nice for hiking or running, but as has been alluded to in other reviews, the trails can get quite muddy when it's been raining a lot.”
“I follow the AllTrails 2 mile loop, and it’s super manageable since I’m coming off an ankle injury, but the terrain feels varied and challenging and interesting still.”
“Lots of boardwalks to navigate the flat wetlands.”
“Dogs are also not allowed, so that can be either a bonus or a hinderance, depending on your perspective.”
