Confirmed from Florence M. Tarr Wildlife Sanctuary's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Florence M. Tarr Wildlife Sanctuary
“The markings were easy to follow and we passed by some really pleasant people/families!”
“Just so beautiful and peaceful no matter what the season.”
“Lovely quiet trails for all levels and ages.”
An easy and well maintained loop ➰ with access to another out and back 🔙 trail. There are "I am Groot" roots that prevent wheelchair access. You will need a rugged stroller for this trail. Regular sneakers are okay. I didn't encounter many insects but I recommend bug 🪲 repellent.
I love the varied terrain, easy well-marked trails, open forest. Lightly used, very quiet. Wildlife sanctuaries discourage dogs because they damage protected species and upset wildlife. Please be respectful of this property and other sanctuaries.
Really lovely local trail system. Not complicated and not a lot of choices but the trails are very well kept. Some really nice walking amenities.
Excellent, easy loop for biking, walking, dog walking, etc. More extended and technical trail are available for trail runner or mountain bikers.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
