Confirmed from South Uncanoonuc's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Mountain featuring an Incline Trail and a Summit Trail for hikers plus views.

Beautiful as ever, dry trails, caught the moon setting and sun rising!
The parking area near the South Mountain at Mountain Base Road can hold about 15 cars and it's next to beautiful little Lake Uncanoonuc. There is no outhouse. It's best to head up Summit Trail from here as Incline Trail is steep with loose stones.
We took summit trail to the top. Is a nice trail but the summit was a little disappointing... A paved road and heating company property that was fenced off. It's a nice hike if you're looking for something very mild but if you're all about the views, find a different peak.

“The parking is a little limited so depends on when you are going Views from the top are limited but even is rainy weather the view is pretty far in general.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
