Confirmed from Forest Glen Woods' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature & recreation area featuring paths amid woods & wildlife, plus a picnic pavilion.
What runners say about Forest Glen Woods
“I take my dogs here and it truly a beautiful, relaxing trail to walk.”
Love riding through this area many rise and falls of little hills here. Today took cover under Cicero Ave underpass, as we got stuck in a downpour. We saw a frog, deer chipmunk and lots of birds. Also a little waterfall as we waited the rain to stop or slow down.
Great starting point for the North Branch Trail. You can bike this trail up to the Botanic Gardens and back. Alot of scenery to see along the way especially during the fall. There tends to be quite a bit of foot traffic here on the weekends but once you get further north it dwindles down.
Great place for a walk, run, or bike ride. Easily accessible parking. Plenty of deer to spot. Even found a turtle on my last walk. Many take their kids - human or canine - for a walk along the trails, too.
Pleasant place to take a walk. You can follow the paved path or the unpaved paths through the woods and along the river. It's not unusual to see deer, a variety of birds, and little critters like squirrels and chipmunks. It's best to stay on the right while walking so as not to impede the cyclists.
