Confirmed from Forest Hills Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Nice pleasant 2 mile hike in a clean well kept up park. Restrooms open and clean.

My dog loves this place! Completely gated in large, separately fenced areas for small dogs and big dogs. They provide environmentally friendly doggy-doo bags, and place to dispose of waste. Very clean. Lots of hiking areas in the immediate vicinity. Benches available for sitting. Parking is close.

★★★★★ — Stormy , Oct 2018

Great spot of green space along route 30. Nice paths to the pool and the playground. Not very large, but some exceptional trees and a great soccer field. Basketball hoops are well used and a few pic nic areas. You can walk your dog through on a leash, just not in the playground area.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 27 mentions

“The space is set in the woods right between the community pool and park, with separate, well marked pens for small and large dogs.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
