Confirmed from Forks of the River Wildlife Management Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Great place to walk/run, trail is paved and relatively flat. There is a an extended trail at the end of the paved one or you can make it a loop and turn off on the gravel… that can go back to the parking lot… it’s where the sunflowers and silo are. Dog and bike friendly. Sunflowers every other year.

We can walk here from our house and we love it. The sunflowers are amazing when they are in season every other year.

My friend told me there was a sunflower field in this area. From how she described it, I didn’t have big hopes. I was absolutely stunned upon arriving. I’ve been riding my bike on the William Skelton Greenway for a couple of years, but never seen the sunflowers. There are acres of them.

Great trail network with varied terrain. Great for running or family walks along the river or biking on paved trails. Mountain biking trails are challenging and fun. Sunflower fields every other year are mind blowingly cool in early July

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
