Confirmed from Ijams Crag's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Ijams Crag

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (80 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

This was an excellent place to go climbing. Well developed with 34 different routes on Mountain project that you can look up. The approach was easy and simple with clear directions and guide posts. The bolts were spaced out very well also. They had routes anywhere from 3.6-3.13.

★★★★★ — Luke , May 2021

This crag is great, everything is super clean, the approach is really easy the parking is decent and all the bolts and ankors felt secure and safe. I would definitely recommend this crag and I'm grateful to whoever does the maintenance on this crag.

★★★★★ — Thomas , May 2021

Amazing trails, but not for the faint of heart. A must for any mountain biker traveling to or through Knoxville.

★★★★★ — His , Sep 2017

As part of the Knoxville Urban Wilderness, this area is well marked and maintained, such that tourists could even explore here. There's a small climbing area known as the crag and multiple trails of various lengths.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
