Confirmed from Fort Ward Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Historic park offering boating, fishing, an underwater scuba park & a paved beachfront trail.
What runners say about Fort Ward Park
“Picnic tables and a scenic trail around the southwest edge of the island are the main draws here, along with the boat launch.”
“Serene and peaceful during weekday with joggers and walkers.”
A very nice park to come to and unwind. Well maintained paved trail for bicycling, roller blading, or skate boarding. I love sitting on the benches and laying on the grass and listening to the wind and waves. The trail is short. But, worth it.
Another great little stop as your journeying through Bainbridge Island. There's a 2-mile trail with some insights into history scattered through it. Would love to come back here with our bicycles.
This little park is nestled away in a corner of Bainbridge Island likely unfrequented by tourists. Picnic tables and a scenic trail around the southwest edge of the island are the main draws here, along with the boat launch. I came in search of a view/photo of the Olympic Mountain Range.
Peaceful and quiet. A quick walk around or biking. Lovely veiws. Highly recommended. I'm a caregiver and I brought my client here with her wheelchair, plenty of room, no issues.
