Confirmed from Fowler Park-Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Fowler Park-Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (288 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Lots of well maintained homes, a school, store and wagon from another time.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Beautiful cabins, but it isn't quiet completely, you can hear traffic, trains, the hustle and bustle doesn't leave you alone completely.”

Love it here. The trails are great. There is so much to see here. The cabins, covered bridge, lake and more. This is a great place for the whole family. I would plan at least an hour for exploring. There is free parking and entry. You can also pay for camping at the lake.

Loved the pioneer village! On our family road trip, we decided to stop at Fowler Park for a picnic. Not being from the area, we had no idea that there was an old pioneer village on the property with some original buildings from the area and some replicated. What a treat!

Love the trails that are there for hiking my pup. Not crowded and pup off has never been a problem. He is super well trained, so that might play a role. I love trails and being able to have my trail trained companion with me.

Beautiful campground. Host very knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of trails and beautiful lake surrounding all campsites. Electric and water no sewer. Dump station available.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
