Confirmed from Fred & Dorothy Meyer Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (48 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“No amenities, but a beautiful piece of woods with native Indiana timber.”

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

“The trail itself is well marked but the entrance to the parking lot isn't.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“It seems not many come here, which is nice if you enjoy a quiet hike”

A nice, quant little hike in a quiet area. I hiked the whole thing twice in a couple hours & only encountered one other couple, which was a pleasant surprise for a good saturday afternoon. The trails are pretty steep, & the ground can be a bit unstable in areas, so watch your footing.

Very secluded and shady trail. Lengthy distance for low activity individuals, benches throughout the trail allows for frequent senic stopping points. Beautiful landscape but rare wildlife spotting. Parking is limited and turn into parking area is mostly hidden on main road.

Nice hike. The trail itself is well marked but the entrance to the parking lot isn't. The are some deep ruts getting to the parking area. Beautiful scenery with deep ravines, steep inclines, and old growth. It's a great little work out.

No amenities, but a beautiful piece of woods with native Indiana timber. A peaceful walk, but does involve walking on steep terrain.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

⛰️ Hills / elevation 18 mentions

“8 miles long but feels like a five Mike due to the elevation changes, lots of switchbacks, a good workout!”
