Confirmed from Friendship Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Awesome park for the kiddo! Plenty of trees and covers to offer the area some shaded spots during the hot months. Plenty of playground options to keep the kids busy, and a nice paved path goes around the playground, complete with rotating children's book reading stations.

This place is always nice to go to no matter if you're there for a walk, jog, or cycling all the way to just sitting around enjoying the quiet. There is also a small pond that is stocked for fishing by Texas park and wildlife. Its just a nice place, especially in the spring and summer.

My great nieces love this park! Lots of different courses. Their favorite is the Zipline. I love the library book reading trail. Great trees and pavilion for shade. Thank you Burkburnett!

Great place to walk and see the ducks. Huge park across the street. Nice place for the kids to fish. Lots of catfish so bring pliers and a towel. Very safe and peaceful.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
