Confirmed from Gargoyle Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Gargoyle Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (155 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“A beautiful end-of-summer visit with friends at a couple of picnic tables under a magnificent oak tree!”

Big and beautiful. Grateful for the updates: trail and disc golf course. Great venue for company picnic!

I love the open space. And the fact that it's located within the allegany bike path/trail. There is so many things to explore here. It's a great place to hold an event like a wedding or small carnival. There are restrooms but I think there has to be an event for them to be open.

★★★★★ — Stephanie , Nov 2023

This is always a nice park to visit. Always very well maintained, and they added a Disk-golf course recently. Quite a few nearby bicycle trails, a major adjoining footpath to the major parts of the city, the river next door, and a large parking lot and open field make this a nice outdoor family destination.

This place as a hidden nugget in olean. Beautiful disk golf course, a small stage and a river near by people use for tubing. Bring mosquito repellent because they do get a little heavy, but this is a really worthwhile place to visit. The trail runs between Franklin and Emlenton for 27.5 miles.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
