Confirmed from Gayle L. McCandliss Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a canyon and playground, plus picnic tables and views.
What runners say about Gayle L. McCandliss Park
“Milwaukee North to the edge of the canyon and be prepared for a beautiful sunset view”
Beautiful- this place is well-maintained, plenty of space, good fields with shady areas and 2 gazebos, couple of b-courts, skateboarding rink for those inclined and an awesome indoor recreation center with plenty of hall space to spare.
I love this park it's great to take my son he loves walking up that hill there's a lot of plants trees in plenty of things to do when you bring your kid to this park I would advise anyone who has children to take them here.
This very small park features a children's play area; a grill; table and bench seating; a short, grassy hill; and a nice view of Downtown, San Diego. And some interesting trails that I have fun walking my dog through.
Nice little quaint park off J Street. Very small and limited parking, but worth the visit if hosting events or just coming for a walk with others.

“downsides are that the parking is probably not enough to accommodate everything at once and that the renting prices are fairly high per hour.”
“go over the hill and there's a small forrested area to hang out in as well as a partially gravel walkway that loops around to the main trail and street.”
