Confirmed from Geisinger Trails Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Beautiful trial but pathway was not marked very well and mostly rocky so boots are definitely a must”

🪧 well-marked 5 mentions

“Fantastic network of trails for all skill levels, clearly marked.”

This is a great trail network. Many signs that can help you navigate your way through. Lots of flowy trails. It is great for the novice as well as the seasoned pro that needs to get their pedal strokes in.

Amazing hiking place with a quaint name Geisinger stewardship forest pretty close to an urban center. Was there on a Thursday morning 630am and had the trail mostly to myself. Well marked trails. I wish they had distances marked too. Maybe not - leaving it is also a good thing.

Quick and easy scenic place to hike. Bring your hiking boots and a camera, it's always an adventure 🤠

★★★★★ — Dorthea , Nov 2023

As of Feb 8, the trails are mostly a sheet of ice. Trail running requires Kahtoola Microspikes or something similar. Great place to get your blood flowing. I wish there weren't so many new, unmarked trails being cut in all the time.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🌲 Natural surface / singletrack 7 mentions

“The main trails are easy enough with some roots and rocks, but there are some Black diamond trails for experienced bikers.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
