Confirmed from Gemini Springs South Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Gemini Springs South Trailhead
“Starting at by Lake Monroe to the south and riding up to Gemini springs is always such a beautiful experience.”
“It starts with a boardwalk under a canopy of trees which is absolutely lovely and it winds back and forth.”
The facilities at Lake Monroe Park are great with plenty of easy parking. And the trail is awesome. Fairly new asphalt that winds through tropical areas and along other parks. It was cool to ride through the swamp on the raised wooden platform. We rode up to the Burger King for lunch and back. About an 8-mile ride.
I really enjoyed this trail. We found it a little difficult to find because we had to drive through the boat parking and past the boat launch to locate the back parking lot. Once you are there it is very easy. We took our road bikes and the trail is very wide so it makes it nice for riding.
This trailhead has a restroom that is clean and stocked. There is a pavilion as well. Parking nearby. Close to a beautiful boardwalk and boat ramp at Lake Monroe. We see plenty of rabbits and squirrels. The occasional deer and snakes. Plenty of birds to watch as well.
Love all the hiking trails out here. The bridge was built in 2006 along with the asphalt trail. I'm sure glad they got the park there, with all the apartments going in. Everything is getting built up. Love wandering off the trail thru the woods with the dogs.
