Confirmed from Geneva State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Geneva State Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (3,541 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 9 mentions

“We walked the paved path from the Crabapple picnic area (which has TONS of parking, very clean bathrooms, and several picnic shelters) to the marina, which then leads to the beach.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“It has a beach and hiking trails with some benches to watch the beautiful sunset by the lake.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 7 mentions

“It was a little too cold to dip in the water, but the walk along the beach was peaceful, and there are lots of nearby trails to explore.”

The walking/bike riding trail is terrific and runs all the way from the lodge in Geneva on the Lake, past the marina, the beach and park to the campsites. It is shaded and tours through the natural environment surrounding the lake.

Very impromptu stop. The place is beautiful! The beach was clean and well kept. Park type area above beach with picnic table and other seating. Nice little walking path in wooded setting right along beach. Good size parking lot.

We recently spent the weekend at Geneva State Park Campground. It happened to be the weekend they had their halloween celebration. The campground is decent. Among its many sites are premium sites that are Lake front. But it lacks the amenities that the other State Park campgrounds have.

★★★★☆ — Jeff , Oct 2024

To quote Don Henley, "Nobody on the road, nobody on the beach." As expected, the place is deserted in February. A fully frozen Lake Erie is not common anymore and that was intetesting to see Those inclined can snow shoe or cross country ski the trails. In winter, the place is quiet and serene.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
