Confirmed from Gilfillan Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

A great 1.25 mile loop trail. I recommend you try it at least once. I am here a couple of times weekly.

Great little mile-long trail that loops the inside perimeter of this beautiful suburban park. Aside from the well maintained wood-chip mulch trail and a few benches, I don't believe there are any other facilities here. There is something historic about this park and the Gilfillan Farm next to it.

★★★★★ — Hakan , Oct 2022

1.25 miles for one lap, good climb and descent for heart rate, wood chips on the surface makes it very good for running and located in a very safe part of Pittsburgh suburbs. Adequate parking in adjacent Westminster church parking lot. On a busy day, you might find 30 other people on the trail. Never crowded.

I chose this park because I needed to get outside and clear my head and enjoy the leaves changing color during autumn. Ive never been to this park before but I wanted to give it a try. This was the most peaceful walk/hike I've ever had. It was a wonderful park and I'll definitely be back again.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 10 mentions

“However, I frequently see dogs, and supposedly dogs are not permitted in the park.”
