Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Glen Falls Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (105 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Take the stone steps leading up to what looks like a mini cave, you’ll go through and along the waterfall for a very scenic hike.”

This is a beautiful trail. It's mostly downhill going in and mostly uphill coming back. I thought I was at the end of the trail, but there's a rock cave you go through to go further up the falls. This part is rocky and requires a little climbing, but I was able to do it with my 1 year-old pup and wearing a backpack.

Nice little mile hike for kids as long as they can watch where they're going. There are a bunch of tree roots and rocks on the path that are trip hazards. I'm overweight and my kids are 13 and 9 and we all survived the hike. The uphill parts were a bit intense but we made it. Pretty views made it all worth it.

Nice trail. Waterfall is pretty cool. Well worth transversing. Just make sure you don't take your personal pet, only take pets you are leasing. 🤣

★★★★★ — Adam , Nov 2024

This trail is on the way up to Rock City—it’s easy to miss. It’s a great 1–2 hour walk featuring a charming mini waterfall. Definitely worth the stop if you enjoy discovering 'hidden' spots. Parking spots could be a problem, depending on the time. The available space can park maximum 7 or 8 cars.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“Parking is VERY limited at the trailhead, but there's a lot of turnover, so if you don't see something at the first pass, come back.”
