Confirmed from Tennessee Riverpark Wheland Foundry Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Tennessee Riverpark Wheland Foundry Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (162 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Love the start of the trail in the gorgeous art piece!”

My wife and I walked about 2 miles and back today. There were more people on it than I thought there would be for a cold and cloudy day. I took a lot of photos. We might rent bicycles next time. They are available at the trail head. It is very clean but there are no benches anywhere! Poor planing.

Wheland Trailhead is presently the end of the river walk trail. It has restrooms, water, bike tools, and an air pump. There is ample parking. Security locks up at 11:00 PM. Sorry for the duplicate photos. Here is an update; the art work that was on display was on loan. Most have been returned to the artist or owner.

What a nice place to walk, ride bicycle's, run, jog, and whatever else you can or want to do. We took our dog out for a walk here and yes we are the folks that pick up the poop so it's all good for your shoes.

This parking area offers a unique walk or run. There is some homelessness but nothing different than downtown. The areas covered in graffiti are a cool run area through forgotten buildings. The construction takes you back up through businesses be aware of the detours.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
