We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Goat Peak Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Goat Peak Trailhead
“After the brutal dusty first half you'll be rewarded with some bouldering in a small canyon and beautiful views near the top.”
Goat peak trail is located in the back of Poway in a residential street. The trail starts off easy but quickly turns into a steep hike. Farther up you go there will be a few parts that will require you to climb a bit but nothing crazy. The top is a bunch of boulders, so be careful where you step.
The trail is challenging and fun. Beautiful and incredibly serene at the peak.
Definitely a challenge up and down. Nature made trail. Its called Goat Peak for a reason.
