Confirmed from Granby Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Nice park, best part it’s shaded for 80% of it - wasn’t sure if it was a loop or not, not tons of maps but nice overall - ppl seemed to be hanging out in their cars In parking lot?”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 9 mentions

“Definitely peaceful and a great place to meditate- especially near the waterfall there.”

Small but cute walking area by the river with benches in several places also a few flowers.

This park is amazing. Very nice trail. But the water is the best view. 😈

★★★★★ — Sterling , Oct 2022

Peaceful little park with a paved trail along the river. There's scatter of dirt trails around as well. The trees provided much need shade. The paths are elevated a few feet above the river banks so no good entry to the river.

★★★★☆ — V , Jul 2023

We went on a rainy, muddy day-- I loved it! We slipped and slid through some of the trails and had a ball. Definitely peaceful and a great place to meditate- especially near the waterfall there. We went to magnet fish- no luck but a great experience with nature in the city.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Granby Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.

Posted hours for the park or trailhead. Gates and parking lots often close earlier than the trail itself, and seasonal hours change — worth a check before a pre-dawn or after-dark run.
