Confirmed from Grand River Conservation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Grand River Conservation Area
“Truly beautiful, loved a chance to take in nature and have conversation with my husband.”
Small area, good for a short walk. Good beginner trail, short nature walk, can walk your dog. There is a small parking lot.
I often walk here when in Painesville. I enjoy the progression of it's rewilding as shown in these photos of Golden Alexander in bloom - I've never seen so much of it. I'll bet the black swallowtail butterfly population of the area will benefit from this large population of it's native larval food plant!
Didn't venture far as it's quite muddy today and trails are unpaved, but we're excited to explore more when the weather breaks!

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
