Confirmed from Graphite Range Community Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Graphite Range Community Forest
“Absolutely beautiful hike, will be going back again soon”
The Graphite Range Community Forest is an excellent place to go on a hike. Currently, there are over five miles of hiking and biking trails. Many of the trails are shared between hikers and bikers. A cool feature of these is that there are several Adirondack chairs along them for rest and relaxation.
A fun place for a hike, though it is very evident that some of the trails are laid out more for biking than hiking.
Fun easy trail. Can’t wait until it extends all of the way to Moreau State Park!
I’ve hiked, mountain-biked, and cross country skied here numerous times. It is a world class recreation amenity. The views from the ridge top into VT are extraordinary. The quality of the trail build is also extraordinary. From an MTB perspective the blend of flow with mild technical difficulty is extremely fun.

“Great place for some fun flowing XC-ish trails, but you have to pay the price with the climb.”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
