Confirmed from Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“A short easy walk around a pond with an observation platform off to the side.”

I enjoyed walking around Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. There isn't a lot of trails here but the boardwalks are nice and I was able to see a few different kinds of birds while exploring.

★★★★☆ — Danny , May 2022

Sweet spot. Home to many happy turtles. One of the trails is very handicap accessible.

★★★★★ — Carol , Mar 2025

Beautiful spot for a nature walk. I also highly recommend crossing the road after the boardwalk on the red maple trail to the adjacent Sudbury land trust property. Lots of lush ferns.

★★★★★ — Mark , Oct 2022

well laid out path makes it easy for kids to hike. Strollers accessible as well. We didn't see many birds but that may be due to the season. easy hike..

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
