Confirmed from Great Pond/Massacoe State Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Great place to go on a nature walk if you're a local. If you're 25-30 minutes away and like ponds, sure it's worth the drive. It is quite a "great" pond in terms of size.

Parking for this area. Geat hike around the pond. Easy and mostly flat. Beautiful pine trees surrounding the area. Dog friendly. Parking is at the end of a gravel road and there is plenty of parking. All trails has a map as well for this area.

★★★★★ — Joan , Sep 2024

This 280-acre park is very serene and has about 5-miles of trails. The trails were flat and semi wide; it's a very easy walk. There is a dirt road with large potholes that leads to a parking area. This park is named after, you guessed it, it's great 30-acre pond.

Great place for a walk! It is mostly flat around the pond so it’s a pretty easy walk.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Flat & fast 8 mentions

“Despite parking lot and the road to it, this is a great place for a flat snowshoe.”
